Most TikTok watermark apps are judged on their screenshots, which show a before and after and tell you almost nothing. Here’s what actually separates them.
The first question: does it try the link route?
This matters more than anything else on the feature list.
TikTok watermarks at export, not at upload — the master on their servers has never carried one. An app that resolves share links can fetch that master directly: no AI, no reconstruction, no quality loss, and typically a higher bitrate than the in-app save.
An app that only does AI removal will happily run a generative model over 900 frames to approximate something it could have downloaded perfectly in three seconds.

The second question: does it handle the bounce?

On blur specifically: some apps advertised as removers apply a blur filter, because a blur is nearly free to compute while a generative model is not. The output has a soft grey patch drifting where the logo was — arguably a worse result than leaving it. For a live post, both work — they use the same share-link technique, so the file you get is identical. Websites cost you ads, redirects, and the fact that every link you paste tells an unknown operator what you’re watching.
